8 to 14 March 2015

The round up for 8 to 14 March 2015.

There are no beatifications scheduled for this week.

Sunday 8 March and Monday 9 March, I have nothing.

Tuesday 10 March, in 1926 in Saint Louis, Missouri, the repose of the Servant of God Theresia of the Holy Trinity.  Born in the Netherlands, she was an early member of the new order the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus.  Her official cause was opened in 2010, but as it is being handled by the Dutch diocese of Roermond and as much of the information on her is in Dutch, I don’t know a lot about her.

Also 10 March, in 1954 in Monroe, New York, the repose of the Servant of God Mary Teresa.  A Holy Cross sister born in New York, she founded the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate, dedicated to going out to the homes of people who may not go regularly to church.  The diocesan phase of her cause was closed in 2015, having taken less than two years, and now awaits Rome’s ruling to move forward to the positio.

Also 10 March, in 1692 in Onondaga, New York, the killings of Margaret Garangowas and Frances Gonannhatenha.  Two Native American laywomen and converts to the Church, they were killed by fellow tribesmen for refusing to apostasize.  I am not aware of a cause for their canonization.

Also 10 March, of interest in Mexico, the memorial of the Blessed Mateo Elias Nieves Castillo.

Wednesday 11 March, I have nothing.

Thursday 12 March, in Lynbrook, New York, the killings of Lawrence Penzes and Eileen Turner.  The first a secular priest, the second a parishioner, they were shot during Mass.  I am not aware of a cause for their canonization.

Also 12 March, of interest to the Breton, the feast of S Paul Aurelian, one of the Founders of Brittany.  I am not sure if Rome has confirmed his cult.

Friday 13 March, in 1931 in San Diego, the repose of the Servant of God Federico Salvador Ramon.  A Spanish priest, who did most of his work in Spain and Mexico, he was best known for founding the Esclavas de la Immaculada Nina, the Servants of the Immaculate Child Mary.  The diocesan phase of his cause is complete and the positio under development.

Also 13 March, of interest in Brazil, the memorial of the Blessed Maria Rita Lopes Pontes de Souza Brito.

Saturday 14 March, I have nothing.

S Paul Aurelian, ora pro nobis.

All the saints, orate pro nobis.

All the martyrs, orate pro nobis.
